This little darling creature is a lamp that I remember from my childhood. No it wasn't in my, or my brother's, room. This lamp belonged in our mom's room. I had completely forgotten about it until my aunt pulled it out of Mom's closet while helping her pack for the move to a subsidized apartment. Since space is limited in my mom's new "utility" apartment my boys have inherited this little guy.
It actually sits on the glass top desk/table in our living room/office. I may leave it there, I have been considering changing the color scheme of my living room to warm orange, purple, and brown, anyway. I think this little guy will fit right in, and add a bit of fancifulness. I have yet to replace the shade, but I kind of like the balance and simplicity that the plain bulb gives. This is one of those bathroom bulbs that can be used without a shade anyway.

Nice sketch Laura. Really funny. I used to have a clown lamp, but it was kind of scary when his face was lighted by the lamp inside, hahaha. This one looks good!!
Martin...
Thank you...when I saw my aunt pulling it out of the closet, I got so excited.
Oh, Man...Clown?!? I am still afraid of clowns. My brother had a clown picture at our dad's house, and it terrified me! Crazy imagination and all...LOL
So sweet and you did a great job on sketching it, too!
Sherie... (I don't even have to look to find your name anymore :-)
Thank you! It's funny, I showed this to my husband as he was walking out the door this morning, and it got a "Now, that's cute" and a smile...Now, that's saying something *giggles*.
My test is usually to let one of my little ones see the picture...if they say "Mommy, that's your phone!", or "Mommy, that's your shoe!"...I know I did OK..LOL
Cute drawing..it almost looks like it could move..uou did some nice shadings here.
